Interaction Elements
After reading the papers on Interactive Design for Children and other sources, I have compiled the interaction elements which could be interesting to be included in our new system.
1. Collective Creativity
- Using the system to enable users without any prior knowledge to come together and produce creative contents like music or dance through their interaction and collaboration. Social element has been previously identified through Age Invaders user studies, as an important factor in making the game fun and engaging. Again here we focus on the keyword collective.
- Imagination and creativity
- Collaboration - physical-physical, physical-virtual, virtual-virtual, online-online, online-offline.
2. Exploration through interaction
- making music
- explore family heritage
3. Engagement
- Flow theory
- Is there any other test that we could use to gauge the engagement level of the users?
4. Reflection
- What do the elements in the interaction mean?
- Why did it happen that way?
- Get users to reflect on the things/culture elements they came across during their interaction
- Must be careful not to make the system boring, ie easy to comprehen and also to prompt user to reflect on positive elements
